Health & Safety Guidelines
Blavity, Inc and AFROTECH™ Team considers the health and safety of all attendees, sponsors and Blavity staff at AFROTECH™ Conference 2023 as our top priority. We will follow all governmental and facility guidelines/regulations and will update this page in accordance with those regulations closer to the conference. AFROTECH™ Conference 2023 will take place in person in Austin, TX, November 1-5, 2023,. We look forward to coming back together to build community and share experiences.

Safety

At AFROTECH™ Conference 2023, the safety and well-being of all our attendees are of utmost importance to us. The conference organizers work closely with the Austin Convention Center, our hotels and venues, Visit Austin and the Austin Police Department to ensure that our guests are provided with a secure and safe environment. As with any city, we encourage our guests to exercise caution during their visit to the conference, both onsite and when enjoying the many amenities that Austin has to offer. In the rare circumstance where attendees may have any safety concerns or require assistance, we encourage them to contact local authorities. We remain confident that we will provide you with a positive experience at AFROTECH™ Conference 2023.

Health

We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and will adhere to local and state regulations accordingly. As we approach the event date, the AFROTECH™️ Conference 2023 health and safety policy is subject to change, and policy updates will be posted here and emailed to registered attendees. Blavity, Inc, AFROTECH™️ Conference, our brands, and sponsors are not liable for the health risks associated with attending the conference.

Vaccinations

While we are not requiring vaccinations in order to attend AFROTECH™ Conference 2023 in person, we strongly encourage all attendees to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Onsite health and safety measures

Face masks are not currently required at Austin venues per local government/health authority requirements. For those who choose to wear a face mask, we encourage you to do so, and masks will be available upon request. Throughout the conference, the event venue will undergo enhanced cleaning, and hand sanitation stations will be available.

COVID-19 Testing

We strongly recommend that you self-test before leaving home and upon arriving in Austin. Complimentary COVID-19 rapid antigen tests will be available to registered attendees upon request during the in-person conference. We will provide guidance for international attendees who may require a test to return to their country. If you have cold or flu-like symptoms or test positive for COVID-19, please stay home and get well.

Travel

We recommend that all attendees and staff comply with travel guidelines issued by the World Health Organization and visit the CDC website for more COVID-19 information when traveling to Austin for AFROTECH™ Conference 2023. See additional resources below: Resources
